English good essay

An English essay has specific guidelines that are used in judging a good essay from a bad one. These guidelines must be considered seriously by the writer for the essay to pass the test of goodness. An English good essay must be written in Standard English.

Some writers are always specific about the writers they would like to write their papers. Some writers are native speakers of English while others are non native speakers of the language. The native speakers of English are better at using the Standard English than the non native counterparts.

The Standard English users know perfectly well how to achieve good grammar in their writing. They know how to use tense (aspect of time), using the different parts of speech etc. however, non standard English users could make ‘fatal’ language mistakes in their writing and could give non good English essays. English essay that is good must address all the issues highlighted in the instructions.

The writer must e rational when writing the essay not to say so much about one thing and very little about the other. In a good essay, balance of ideas is very important. The paragraphs should not be extremely long or extremely short. A good paragraph should contain a minimum of three sentences.

A one sentence paragraph is too short. In addition, each paragraph should have a topic sentence which is followed by supportive sentences and then conclusive sentence. The first paragraph of a good English essay must be the introductory paragraph. This paragraph introduces the idea of the essay.

This idea is also called the central theme or subject matter of the essay. As the essay advances to the successive paragraphs, it explores the central idea while the conclusive paragraph sums up the essay.
