Traveling to a new land is always an excite venture. New foods to try, interesting purifications to experience, new population to meet, cities, towns and sites to stick by cloaked up in and mesmerized by and great people to share the experience with to make it worth the while. I got to chatter life a whole new perspective when I was granted the opportunity to visit Morocco with a few of my peers in high school as a study foreign trip the Thanksgiving of 2007. This was my first time outside of the country and I was nervous, enthusiastic, and eager to learn and explore this beautiful northward African country. Living with a family that was not my own was interesting. I got to learn their traditions and customs such as using a Turkish toilet (which is a tiled hole in the ground that you squat over to go to the bathroom), and eating with my hands. My multitude family was very welcoming towards my classmate Taliah and me, involving us in their chance(a) household activities and making sure that we were comfortable. They also went as furthermost as to throw a party for us with vibrant symphonyal entertainers, animated performers, and talented henna artists who gave us beautiful, complex henna tattoos.

We also shared some of our American culture with our host brother and sisters, watching some of our favorite episodes of Family make fun on YouTube and teaching us some of the dances that we do and music we listen to. To this day we still keep in feign by using email and webcam. My peers and I also volunteered at The Myriem Orphanage in Rabat, where we worked and played with children of various ages in groups of twain or three. The orphanage, which was funded by the Moroccan government, had been undergoing renovations and we were happy to see that the childrens rooms were painted in bright pastel dark glasses of baby blues and spring greens, of pale butter yellows and blushful pinks.
