The Life and Time of Me
I was born(p) November 4, 1986. My parents were undereducated twenty-somethings, completely unprepared to be parents. Both my parents face up their own personal demons. They let me read my own mistakes and check off from them. Life for our family was never easy, it was always a struggle to make ends meet. The life lesson I took from my parents and their struggles was that life is about being qualified overcome whatever obstacle you face. They also showed me that marriage is until closing do you part. This became even to a greater extent clear when I became a mom at only thirteen and again at seventeen. My parents supported my decision to parent as well as my goals to finish my education and beget a career. In this essay, I will explore my past, present and feture and apply the theories I have learned in psy 202.
The apartment complex I was brocaded in was not a place most state would want to raise a family in. It was a low income house development where dreams and opportunities were low meanwhile alcohol and drugs were readily available. It merely so happened that my Dads demon was cognitive content abuse. My Mom battled with my Dad to find out and keep him from drinking, doing drugs or getting in trouble with the law.
However, no matter what she did, she could not cure him. Eventually out of defeat she joined my Dad in his drug use.
Consequently my Dads substance abuse lead our family to take on roles in our family that we differently would not have taken on. The experts breakdown the roles as the enabler, the hero,the scapegoat, the broken child, and the mascot (Newbridge Foundation,2012). The enabler makes excuses or denies the problem inadvertently contributing to the problem more then helping it.
