In biblical time a prophet named Moses was commanded by God to drop out a group of People named the children of Israel. Finally, Moses managed to free the Israelis with the help of God but he could not surrender the children of Israel to the promise land. Then Joshua, a prophet appointed afterward Moses, led the children of Israel into the promise land and conquered it. The promise land was renamed Judea by the Jews. Later on, the land was conquered by the Romans who renamed the land Palestine and hence by the Arabs who lived there for over one thousand years. In 1917, at the end of WWI, Britain granted a small deal out of the land to the Jewish people to settle in it. In 1947, at the end of WWII after the holocaust, a massive heart and soul of Jews fled to Palestine and were granted the right to own the land by Britain, UN, and U.S.A. By 1967 the Jewish people took Palestine from the Palestinian and renamed it Israel. The Israeli-Palestinian difference of opinion has existed ever since.
