The Johnson County area is mostly populated by the Caucasian race. Growing up Asian in a white community I stick out and am good picked out of a crowd. I always have to be on my best behavior because someone is always ceremony me, waiting for me to fasten a mistake. I feel worry I always have to watch my every impel to ascertain in. When I walk into a break in I feel like an alien. People stop and stare, as if I had a gun in my hand or cooking to steal. From the time I step into the store I am followed because they think stereotypically of me as a glum person.
Before exiting the store I am often asked for a receipt to make sure I have purchased what is in my bags. With Caucasians having the power this would not been seen as acceptable. Caucasian people are able to stigmatize freely and peacefully, they are able to get what they need and come forth without being questioned.
Shopping is one of the least worries for a colored person. On a daily basis I am judge by my appearance. If I were to wear hand me blue apparel I am looked upon as being poor. Whereas if a Caucasian were to wear hand me downs no one would think anything bad about it. I even have to be careful as to how the hand me downs fit.
