Friendship. The one thing that every human desires. A relationship in the midst of two people. That is what Brian Piccolo and Gale Sayers made in a screen sportswoman written by William Blinn. John Grays enter of drumheads Song in 2001 also develops a theme of friendship between Gale Sayers and Brian Piccolo. From the moment Gale Sayers stepped out of the taxi that had brought him to the Chicago Bears football Training Camp, Gale and Brian developed their friendship in both the screenplay and the movie. The scene is just afterward Gale was told that he was rooming with Brian (Gale speaks first): Hi. Were rooming together. Says who? Who else. Terrific. Sort of a shame he couldnt ask me how I felt about it, isnt it (30, 31)? During the screenplay, this scene might almost appear that Brian and Gale are nigh joking with each other. The 2001 movie was a different story.
