“The Lottery” by Shirley Jackson and “A Rose for Emily” by William Falkner are fine pieces of literature that deserve to be compared. The literary devices in these deuce stories apply similarities such as death and differences such as the t unrivaled of each story. The authors of each lead all distinct lives but each of their lives are encompassed in their work. Comparing and incompatible these two stories gives us insight into the authors own individual lot of murder and death.
In The Lottery the circumstance was in the townsfolk square on a clear summer daytime (Jackson, 1948). Shirley Jackson writes in a way that you give the sack literally feel the warmth of the sun, A Rose for Emily’s setting is in Emily’s lone(a) abandoned house (Faulkner, 1931).
